The matchstick is an old object which creates a flame through the archetypical gesture of striking. Being consumed to generate light and heat is its primary function, what remains is a wooden stick of blackness and ashes.
This is where Aska comes from: leaving behind a dirty and sharp mark just like the one that matchsticks draw on the rough surface of the box.
The combination of four different pattern creates a collection of 16 matchboxes. It's been created also an interactive machine in which the user can create his own pattern with a hand movement and then print it on his own box.
